Daddy's Valentine | Father-Daughter Dance

I do not make many personal posts but I just wanted to share a few candids of my niece from Saturday. My brother took his daughter (Braylie 3yrs) to the father/daughter dance in Bainbridge at the Firehouse gallery! She was so excited and I could not pass up the opportunity to see her off to her first dance! Tear! When I got there, she was stalling in the bathtub but it didn't take her long to take interest in me playing with her toys. She actually made me sit in her bathroom while Ann blew out her hair because I believe she thought I was actually going to take one of her toys home with me! After playing for a bit she got in her red dress and red shoes - she sure was something special! Of course we (the females) were making a huge deal out of it but it was just too cute for words. After shyly showing off her date night attire the daddy and his valentine posed for a few quick pics before walking to the dance. Most of you know that you can never get enough pictures of your young ones but I swear that I would have given my big toe just to have gotten a few more. The thought even passed my mind to sneak into dance and shoot from a back corner with 500mm lens but . . . sometimes you just have to let others live in the moment. Besides, I know of at least one daddy who will never forget the first dance his took his little sweetheart to! He will look back one day and say "remember when". . .

After putting on her jacket she took a quick peek at herself in the "mirrow" and ran out of the closet to hug me!

This shot was when I realized I probably looked like a crazed paparazzi. So after I stood there feeling helpless but awe struck.
