Doggy Tribute | Personal Post

For those that have known me personally over the past 7 years you have probably met my English bulldog, Hefner.  For those of you that didn't have the privilege of meeting him, he was a mighty fine dog.  Hefner was given to me as a gift from my husband back when I was still in college.  I guess you could say he was my first true responsibility and in many ways like my first child.  He was also my friend. Hefner kept me company, kept the bed warm, made me laugh, watched over me, rode shotgun on long drives, made sure all of my furniture was well broken in and was what I called my mascot for Anna Kinchen Photography.  He was not really fond of playing fetch, running/jogging or being outside. He was, however, in to drooling, laying on air conditioner vents, wrestling, UGA football games, sleeping, sleeping and sleeping.  He moved with me from Savannah to Atlanta, Atlanta to Tallahassee and Tallahassee to Bainbridge.  He was the ring bearer in my wedding and welcomed me home from the hospital after the birth of my son.  He has been a major part of my life for many years and it saddens me deeply to say that he passed away yesterday. He was family and with his passing he took a piece of my heart. I pray that heaven is well stocked in cheetos, expensive leather shoes, plush mattresses and has no shortage of people willing to scratch his backside.  Rest in peace good buddy.
